I just bought today iGetter 2.7.5.

Whenever I start a download, a Waiting response and a coffee cup is all I get.

Has this happened to anyone?

Hello Walter,
First you have to look in the iGetter Segments tab panel for the error causing the waiting state. If you see:

1. "401 Authorization required" error: This HTTP error means that you must enter a password for this URL before to download it. To do so, pause the download. Double click on it to open its "Item Settings" dialog. Then choose Advanced tab panel and enter your user info for this download. Or you can enter your user info once in the iGetter preferences, "Site Manager" panel.

2. Network error 64: Check your firewall rules. Also, switch off the 'Test connection status' option in the iGetter Connections preferences to tell iGetter not to test any available PPP modem connections.
Configure your Internet interface connection as prior from the System Preferences->Network->Active Network ports-> Set first the interface connection that goes to the Internet.

3. Look at http://www.appleerrorcodes.com/ if the error is not listed above.

4. If it's a filefront.com download you may receive a "403 Access Forbidden" error on random occasions. Also if you use multiple segments on filefront downloads you need to get a new file URL from the same download page when some of the segments goes in broken state. You can use the FlashGot extension of Firefox to easily add such URLs to iGetter through the "Save As" dialog.

If it's not a filefront.com download then it may be a filesharing service that uses temporary URLs. To avoid problems with such downloads just download with 1 segment - set the "Number of segments" to 1 in the "Item Settings" dialog, before starting the download or use the Site Manager to limit the number of connections to that site.
