Hallo!

Could you please provide more detailed description on how "Virus Scan" function works? ...

For instance I've chosen an "XXX.app" application as virus scanner program in iGetter Preferences menu. After downloading file "YYY" which process is invoked by iGetter?
How does it run virus scanner program?

Hello,
iGetter sends an Apple event to open the selected antiviral app which means that you need a Mac OS X antivirus application (not a Unix command line utility). For example if you wish to use ClamAV you need to install the ClamXav app http://www.clamxav.com/ which accepts Apple events.
