I am trying to download a big program and although it has found the site it keeps alternating between connecting and waiting. The following is the error message that I keep getting on the segments tab is as follows:

Please be really explicit when you describe how to try and fix this. I am working on a Windows Vista PC and not a computer expert in any way.

Already checked the timeout after # seconds thing and it is already set to 60 seconds.

The network error 268435556 means: "Operation timed out. Server not responding!". This means that either iGetter is blocked by a firewall or is not responding. Can you download that file with Firefox or Internet Explorer for example? If yes, what kind of firewall do you use?
