i am new to i getter and am experiencing some issues. First of all i am not quite sure how to download. for example: if i would want to download a song from limewire, how would i go about doing that if i cant find a specific URL for the song i want to download? Is there an icon or something to where i can drag the song and drop it onto an icon and it will download?
much thanks- Aaron

There are several ways to download a URL with iGetter:

1. Drag & drop a download link from a browser window to the iGetter Main window;

2. Drag & drop to the iGetter Target Icon (menu Window -> Show Target Icon);

3. Drag & drop to the iGetter Dock Icon (only on Mac OS X 10.5.x or later);

4. Use "Download with iGetter...", "Download All with iGetter...", "Download Selection with iGetter..." commands in the browser contextual menus. To activate them, turn on "Add contextual menu support for Internet Browsers" in iGetter's Preferences -> Integration tab panel.

5. Use iGetter plugin browser integration, which will transfer URL's for download directly to iGetter, without any user interaction. To activate it, turn on "Integrate with Internet Browsers" menu command in the Tools menu.

Please, find more info in the iGetter Help documentation.

As far as I know Limewire is a "peer-to-peer" (p2p) service, which uses its own private protocol, not compatible with the standard download managers. So, to download/share files in the Limewire network you should use their software.

As for the Limewire music store, we don't have an account there and I can't test the downloads. I suppose, they are using standard Internet protocols (http, https, ftp) for downloading, to reach a broader audience.

To check the protocol of an URL, look at the beginning of the link. If it starts with "http://", "https://" or "ftp://" it's possible to be downloaded with iGetter.
Another important thing is the extension of the downloaded file. It's usually at the end of the URL, and for the music files could be ".mp3", ".wma", ".ogg", etc.

You can use the iGetter integration with Internet browsers to download music. Just add into iGetter Preferences -> Integration panel -> "Automatically start downloading files of types" field, the ".mp3" or whatever other music extension you want to download. Every time in Internet browser, when you open or click on a file with such an extension, it will be transferred for download in iGetter.
