Can anyone suggest what may be going on here. iGetter 2.7.5 on Mac OS X (installed is 10.4.11) chokes on osol-0906-x86.iso from opensolaris.com . It gets to 672.67MB out of 676.99MB and then sits there "Waiting...Connecting...Waiting..." I also saw this problem with the previous release of opensolaris on the opensolaris.com site - and it that case, 8 hours later it *still* had not downloaded :(

If it helps my settings in iGetter are:

Connection type: 12Mb Cable/DSL
Connection speed 1536.00 KB/s (this is 100% reliable on all other downloads I've tried)
Minimal segment size: 460KB
Default number of segments: 8
Speed limit: unlimited

HTTP User Agent: iGetter/2

Thanks
-Colin

fixed...

and 2 minutes later I suddenly see the solution (oops!) on this forum. See thread:

"Sun VirtualBox won't complete"

This works a treat :)

very interesting indeed since both are Sun products which must be hosted under some kind of Sun configuration (my bet is SPARC/Solaris).

So it must be that specific configuration which must be creating iGetter trouble.

addition

sorry, I clicked submit reply too early.

I suggest you to set iGetter a way that it will get one file from Sun servers, with a single segment. I am just a user but if it happened to me, I would definitely do it. You shouldn't need segmenting on such a fast connection anyway.
