When using Easynews and trying to download my archived files, sometimes the total size is wrong and when iGetter is finished, the file won't zip because it didn't download the whole file.

The total size displayed in iGetter and what it downloads are congruent, so there seems to be something wrong there. For example, a zip file will be 1.7 gigs but when I queue it up in iGetter, it says it's only 1.3 gigs or something. And I'm not sure how to make it download the rest.

Thanks,
Randy

Randy,
We don't have an easynews.com account, but there are several posts on this forum of users that successfully use iGetter to download such files.

To see why iGetter shows that file size, select the Segments tab panel and see the transfer transcript of the first segment. Look at the response from the easynews server that follows the iGetter request. There should be a "Content-Length: xxxx" field. That "xxxx" number is the file size in bytes of the download.

If you try to download multipart files added as one file (in other words if you see a multipart content-disposition entity) you won't be able to do it. iGetter supports the content-disposition entity but for singlepart attachments.

In addition, based on the other users posts this is what you have to do to download from easynews:

1. Uncheck the "Prevent resuming if file date is modified" option at iGetter preferences, Connections panel.
2. Add the following site entries (you may also limit them to 1 connection) at iGetter preferences, Site Manager panel:

http://.easynews.com/
http://members.easynews.com/
http://zip.members.easynews.com/
http://downloads.members.easynews.com/

Regards,
iGetter Support
