Put RS url in browser.
File downloads.
Put RS url in iGetter.
Network error: -9806

RS Premium account for one year with no problems using iGetter.
No changes have been made to any settings.

Any ideas about what the problem is or how to resolve?
Is there a list of errors codes available for us to review?

Thanks for any help.

The error -9806 is an SSL errors and it means "Connection closed via error (errSSLClosedAbort)". Either RS or Apple has updated something in their SSL implementation, or your keychain is corrupted (if you use Mac OS X 10.6 see this info: http://decimus.net/support/Synk/synksharing-ssl-keychain-corruption).

However, to avoid this problem:
1. In your rapidshare premium area, turn on direct downloads option and turn off SSL option (My RapidShare->File Manager->Download Settings:
Direct Downloads->ON
Secure Downloads (SSL)->OFF

2. If rapidshare downloads start with https, try to remove the "s" from "https://" part of the URL. Just pause the download and use "Item Settings" command (double click on the download).

Error Codes

Thank you for the quick response.

My settings had been set as you suggested.
Although there had been an 'ON/OFF' setting for SSL previously, at this time there is only 'ON/OFF' setting for Directdownload.
No SSL setting shown.
There has been no "s" in url.

I use Mac OS X 10.5.8.

Keychain Access 4.0.2

System listing in Keychain Access shows both com.apple.kerberos.kdc, and com.apple.systemdefault certificates have red circle with x.

Both expire Monday November 26, 2029 10:27:37 PM ET.

Both say "This root certificate is not trusted"

4 Keys (2 public, and 2 private) of same names have no markings, Date Modified or Expires.

Are the instructions at link you provided for Snow Leopard only?
If so, does that mean they Leopard keychain does not have that problem?

Any other suggestions?

RickD,
Can you post an iGetter request (plus the error -9806 response) of a problematic download. You can use also our support form (http://presenta.net/igetterfeedback.html).

To send us a transfer log, just start some RS download in iGetter. Then select the Segments tab panel and wait the log to show the error. Now, right click with your mouse and select "Copy Log" command. Finally, post (Cmd+V) that log here or send to us a bug report. We need to verify if the problem is on your machine or some change in Apple Keychain app has caused it.

Thanks,
iGetter Support

I used the link you provided to bug report support form, but I do not know what you mean by this...
"Can you post an iGetter request (plus the error -9806 response) of a problematic download."

Thanks for the support form link.

RickD,
Thank you for the provided link. It seems that provided RS download has already been deleted, so most probably that's why you get the -9816 error. The -9806 error also appeared several times and most probably means that the RS server is busy.

In both this thread and another one http://presenta.net/forums/showthread.php3?threadid=1321, error -9816 appeared on already deleted RS files that use HTTPS protocol. So if you receive such error, pause the download in iGetter, open its "Items Settings" dialog and copy the URL. Then paste it in your browser to test it if that link still works or file is already deleted.
