Hello

Does iGetter have the option to add .partial extension to the unfinished downloads and rename it back when it's done ?

for example if i download a file called "Video.mov" then i need the file to be called "Video.mov.partial" and when it reaches 100% and the download is complete then the file will be back to "Video.mov".

thanks a lot

Axio,
Currently, iGetter changes only the icon of unfinished downloads. This may cause problem with the Finder when it tries to show a preview of these downloads. The workarounds for this problem that we found in the forums are:
1. Disable the "Show icon preview" option in Finder. See the instructions here: http://www.bombippy.com/archives/2008/02/how_to_disable.php
2. Close the finder window that includes the unfinished downloads.
3. Download on a HD partition different than your boot partition.
4. Exclude your Downloads folder in Spotlight preferences.

However, as a last resort you can name your downloads as you like if you turn on "Open save dialog on new download" option at iGetter preferences, General panel and turn off "Automatically rename redirected files" at iGetter preferences, Advanced panel. When download completes you can double click on it in the History list and remove the extension.

Most probably we will add an extension to uncompleted downloads in some of the future versions of iGetter.

Thanks,
