I've connected to a seedbox through standard FTP (ftp://domain).

Under preferences>connections: FTP over SSL (explicit)
Auth mode: TLS
Data connection Mode: Private/Clear Data connection

1) Are these settings automatically applied to all incoming downloads?

2) Will these settings prevent my ISP from seeing what i download?

3) Do I need to switch connection mode to just "Private" or is "Private/Clear" ok? What is the difference?

Thanks!

To create a secure FTP connection:
1. FTP server must support FTP over SSL protocol. For example the default FTP server on Mac OS X uses insecure FTP protocol.
2. You must choose one of the FTP over SSL options available on the iGetter New URL (Item Settings) dialog or you may just type "ftps://domain"

You may find information about FTP over SSL options in the iGetter Help:

quote:
You have to use a method that is supported by the server. Method "AUTH TLS" is currently favored; the other two "AUTH SSL" and "FTP over SSL (Implicit)" are "deprecated".

Data connection - Here you can choose if you want the FTP data connection to be:
Clear data connection - data connection will be un-encrypted.
Private data connection - data connection will always be encrypted.
Private/Clear data connection - iGetter will try to use an encrypted data connection but if the FTP server refuses this it will use a clear data connection.

I'm currently downloading a file from my seedbox. I connected to the ftp://domain in site explorer but changed the setting to:

FTP connection: FTP over SLL (explicit)

Under the Segments tab of the file it reads:

Connecting to "domain"
AUTH TLS
234 AUTH TLS successful
USER
PASSWORD
loggin in
PBSZ 0
200 PBSZ 0 successful
PROT P
200 Protection set to Private
TYPE A
Entering Passive Mode

Does this mean that I am successfully connected through encryption to my server? I don't have to connect to the ftpes://domain?

Yes, it means that both authentication and data connections are secure. "234 AUTH TLS successful" and "200 Protection set to Private" server responses prove that.
