As chrome is deprecating NPAPI support are there plans for a new version of iGetter?

Hello,
Unfortunately, starting with Chrome v45 (scheduled for September 2015), plugins will not work any longer in Chrome. If you use the current stable or beta versions, you need to enable NPAPI plugins through the following option:

chrome://flags/#enable-npapi

We're looking for a new way to integrate iGetter with Chrome, but the alternatives that Google propose may cause unexpected behavior.

However, iGetter CM commands ("Download (all/selection) with iGetter") should work without any problems in Chrome (including v45 and later).

Regards,
iGetter Support

UPDATE 1: Starting with Chrome v44 (released on July 21, 2015) any extension that is not hosted on Chrome Web Store will be disabled. Current iGetter v2.9.3 extension (which adds contextual menu commands) still works in Chromium v44 and up (read below).

UPDATE 2: iGetter Extension v2.9.4 that is compatible with recent versions of Chrome is posted on Chrome Web Store and it should update automatically in your browser even if you use iGetter v2.9.3. If you want to update it immediately read the post from 12-01-2015 below.

Sorry, but that sounds not really optimistic! :(

We're almost ready with an updated extension that works with recent Chrome versions. It requires some more testing, though. In addition, we noticed that starting with Chrome v44 (currently excluding Chromium) all extensions should be hosted on Chrome Web Store.

In the meantime, you can install Chromium v44 side-by-side with your other Chrome install. It's the same stable build as Chrome v44. You can download and install it from here:
https://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/chromium-browser-snapshots/Mac/330231/chrome-mac.zip

Then enable NPAPI plugins through the following option and click on "Relaunch Now" button that will appear at the bottom of the page:

chrome://flags/#enable-npapi

After the relaunch type "about:plugins" (without quotes) in the Chrome's address bar and check "Always allowed" options for the two iGetter Plugins.

Both iGetter v2.9.3 Extension (contextual menu commands) and iGetter Plugin (click catcher) should work with this version of Chromium.

iGetter Extension that is compatible with recent versions of Chrome is ready. Your current iGetter Extension should update automatically, but you may also update it immediately. To do so, type "about:extensions" (without quotes) in Chrome's address bar. Then enable "Developer mode" and click on "Update extensions now" button. Your extension should update to the latest version. After the update disable "Developer mode".

In addition to the contextual menu commands "Download (all/selection) with iGetter", extension sends all initiated downloads to iGetter. If you want, you can temporarily disable download interception by the "Disable integration" contextual menu command.
