El Capitan 10.11.1 Update introduces a bug that prevents safariextz files to be installed. If you experience the following behavior then restart your machine in SAFE mode (holding Shift key while restarting) which will allow you to install iGetter extension for Safari.

To integrate iGetter with Safari you need to:
1. Turn ON both "Integrate with Internet browsers" and "Add Contextual menu support for Internet browsers" options at iGetter preferences, Integration panel.
2. When you close iGetter preferences, Safari will start with its Extensions panel opened.
3. Safari will ask you to confirm that you trust the source and want to install the extension. When you click on the "Trust" button, iGetter extension should appear in Safari Extensions panel.

If iGetter extension doesn't appear when you click on the "Trust" button, then restart your machine in SAFE mode (holding Shift key while restarting) and follow the above procedure. Then restart your machine in normal mode.

This is a known problem in El Capitan 10.11.1 Update. See:

UPDATE: Safari Trust prompt is related to OS X 10.11.1 Security update about SecurityAgent (CVE-2015-5943). In short, all third-party apps that control your mouse, must be approved at System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Accessibility (i.e. enable BetterTouchTool). Then this issue will go away.

Installation of iGetter Extension for Safari also works if you use your keyboard to confirm the Trust extension source dialog. Mouse clicking on "Trust" button doesn't work on OS X 10.11.1.

To do so, go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Full Keyboard Access > select "All controls" option. Then following the instructions in the previous post, when the Trust prompt appears select the "Trust" button with your Tab key and confirm with the Space bar. This way iGetter Extension should appear in Safari Extensions panel. Just don't use your mouse to click on the "Trust" button, it will not work in the recent El Capitan update.

igetter extension not working in Safari

I have tried two of the methods posted in this this forum:
1. restarted in safe mode, re-enabled the 2 web integration options. Safari did NOT open with the extension panel to allow me to 'trust'
2. have checked and unchecked the integration options, multiple times, to no avail.

I've also cleared caches, restored system from previous time machine version when igetter DID work,

Any other suggestions?

@Chad Hawk
You can download the iGetter Extension as explained here:
http://www.igetter.net/faq.html#q1-13

Then use Safari > File menu > Open > Navigate to downloaded "iGetterExtension.safariextz" file. When the Trust extension prompt appears, follow the instructions above. Mouse clicking on the "Trust" button doesn't work in El Capitan 10.11.1 update.

It seems that the problem with the Safari Trust prompt is related to OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 Security update about SecurityAgent (CVE-2015-5943).

In short, you need to examine your list of approved apps (System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Accessibility) and enable those listed there (i.e. BetterTouchTool). Then this issue will go away.
