Hi,

just for your info: In macOS 10.12.6 Beta, Safari 10.1.2 seems to have a new security feature. When a plugin wants to connect to another application there is a new warning message: "Do you allow this site to open application xyz?"

Unfortunately this doesn't work with the iGetter plugin yet. The message box doesn't appear and you can't allow Safari to transfer the download to iGetter.

Best regards

Indeed, on Sierra 10.12.6 Beta 1, iGetter Plugin only starts iGetter, but no download is added. We will investigate this problem. You need to disable iGetter Tools menu option "Install iGetter Browser Plugin".

In Sierra 10.12.5 iGetter integration with Safari 10.1.1 works fine.

An alternative to contextual menu command "Download with iGetter" is to drag&drop a link from Safari to iGetter Dock icon. Also, you can copy&paste links in Safari and then paste directly in iGetter through menu Edit -> Paste (Cmd+V).

Any news on fixing this issue with 10.12.6 beta?

We're looking for a workaround, but it seems that Apple have silently put new restrictions on Plugins (there is no even a hint in Console app). Actually, Plugin launches iGetter, but without any download info send to it.

Drag&drop and copy&paste methods still work with Safari betas (10.1.2 and 11.0).

It works with other download plugins. But I haven't found any that's as good as iGetter ;)

After you click on "Download with xxx" a message box appears where you have to confirm that file can be downloaded with app xxx.

iGetter v2.9.5 works fine with the final Safari 10.1.2 (i.e. installed with Sierra 10.12.6 update):

In some cases Safari resets its plugin settings back to the default "Ask" option, so you need to enable iGetter Plugin(s) (in addition to iGetter extension). To do so, open Safari > Preferences > Security > Internet plug-ins. Click Plug-In Settings and select iGetter Plugin. In the "When visiting other websites" pop-up menu, choose "On":
