After having tried for some time iGetter, I eventually
registered today. It is really a good product. Straight
to the point: I find there there are at least two
annoying behaviours of iGetter that should be fixed:
1) When iGetter is launched from a browser, a NEW page is
displayed which specifies that iGetter has been used.
This seems pretty useless information, and most
importantly a waste of time and bandwidth, since
every time I have to go BACK with my browser. Is it
possible to have the option in the preferences not to
show that additional page every time?
2) There is no fine grained control on when actually
igetter is invoked from a browser. The list of
extensions provided in the preferences is a first
step, however:
a) there is no control over the protocol (igetter
catches also protocols it does not handle like
some previous posting noticed)
b) it seems to me that igetter also takes decisions
about files WITHOUT extensions that I'd like to
see in the browser since they are text files.
By now I can not say igetter to let me see
those files from the browser itself. A solution
would be to use mime types explicitly (a' la
explorer). But any other solution that gives me
control would be immensely appreciated.
