I downloaded igetter 2.1 for a trial period but couldn't get anywhere with it. For example I couldn't browse the site I had entered on the site explorer. Further, the downloads never started. What could the problems be? I have a dial up connection and can't get a faster connection in the area I live. An application like igetter is important to me.

Hello Sajan,
It seems that there is a network error in your case. You must first connect your modem to the Internet in order to download with iGetter. Or just set on the Redial modem when disconnected function and it will redial automatically for you. Look at the "PPP attempts timeout" option at iGetter preferences Connections panel to adjust the timeout for redialing.

If this isn't a network error, look at the Transfer details panel, "Segments" tab, select the first connecting segment to see what error you get.

Regards,
