Hello Mark,
A good way to start using iGetter is to use it as a replacement of your browser's download manager. To do so, turn on the "Integrate with Internet browsers" Tools menu function. Now, when you click on a download link in your browser it will be transferred automatically to iGetter. By default iGetter will intercept only the following files: sit, bin, hqx, zip, gz, tgz, dmg (set in the iGetter Integration preferences).

Another way to add a URL (HTTP or FTP download link) to iGetter is by using the browser's contextual menu function "Download with iGetter".

You can adjust the way you add a new download (with or without a save dialog, with immediate start and so on) if you look at the iGetter preferences, General panel.

Downloaded files will appear in the History group. Clicking twice on a finished download will reveal the real file in the Finder ready for use.

Regards,
