Hi,

Great program but as far as I can tell it's missing something fairly big. If I download a file from the url "www.foo.com/a random file.txt" I end up with a file called a%20random%20file.txt which is very ugly...is there no way to make iGetter recognise spaces in files and remove them?

Thanks,

Tim

Hello Tim,
We tested a file with a space in the name to see if iGetter will change the name, but it didn't. Most probably you've got the URL from a browser. The space character and some other are not allowed in URLs so the rule is to encode them with "%20". However, if you enter an URL with spaces in iGetter and it doesn't redirect to another URL you should get the file with spaces as you have entered it.

Thanks very much for the speedy reply. I currently use a FireFox plugin called FlashGot so that I can download entire directories over http with a click of a button. As far as I am aware there is no way to make iGetter download every file in a directory over http is there?

Thanks,

Tim

Hello Tim,
FlashGot just sends all URLs from a web page for processing in iGetter. You can reach the same function in iGetter from menu Tools -> "Process Web Page".

As of removing of "%20" chars you can use a file renamer utility like "ReNamer" for example http://www.den4b.com/downloads.php?project=ReNamer. Use a "CleanUp" rule to replace "%20" chars with spaces.
