Hi, I'm a new mac user and I've downloaded iGetter, during my Windows days I was using getright to download from newsgroups with username and password, now I've of course put the user id and password also in iGetter. When the download start no problem but if I want to resume it the status is always in "waiting" mode. With getright there were not such a problem I had just to write again the id and password from time to time and then the download resumed with no problems. Perhaps I did something wrong in the settings? Thanks for your help!

Hello Agi,
Depending on the error causing the waiting state (see the "Segments" tab panel) you have to either limit the number of connections to that site (through the Site Manager) or get a fresh URL if it's expirable.

"401 Authorization required" error means that you must enter a password for this URL before to download it. To do so, pause the download. Double click on it to open its "Item Settings" dialog. Then choose Advanced tab panel and enter your user info for this download. You can do this for each new download or you can enter your user info once in the iGetter "Site Manager" (menu "iGetter" -> "Preferences" -> "Site Manager"). The following site entries provided from other iGetter users on this forum should work for easynews.com:

http://.easynews.com/
http://members.easynews.com/
http://zip.members.easynews.com/
http://downloads.members.easynews.com/

Hello Agi,
First try to get a fresh download URL from the easynews site and replace the current download URL. Most file sharing services use expirable session URLs, may be easynews too.

Next try to limit the number of connections to 1 for all easynews entries in iGetter preferences, Site Manager. Alternatively, you can set the "Max simultaneous downloads" value to 1 at iGetter preferences, General panel and "Default number of segments" to 1 at iGetter preferences, Acceleration panel.
