http://gallery.wallpaper.free.fr
has some nice stuff

i was using "process web page" to successfully download several galleries successfully

suddenly it stopped working
now i can not log into the site using safari

i deleted all my cookies, but no help
it seems to be an ip ban

i can log in if i use firefox with tor
but i can't make igetter use that link [it reverts to safari]

i can click on the files one by one
but that is a real pain

i don't want to configure safari to work with tor because i rarely use it
it's slow
privoxy is a headache
etc

any ideas on what to do?

Hello Ed,
Since iGetter uses the system proxy preferences the only way to use iGetter with Tor is either to use Privoxy as HTTP(S) and FTP proxy or just use directly Tor as a SOCKS proxy on 127.0.0.1 port 9050. Using only SOCKS means that you have to switch on/off only the SOCKS Proxy checkbox in the system network preferences in order to use Tor (it must be started as well). Also you can disable Privoxy by removing the Privoxy folder from the /Library/StartupItems/ folder.

one more thing

if i enable tor [vidalia] as a socks proxy
is it only for web browsing
and is it automatic for each client
or can i pick and choose
ie must i tell each app to use the proxy
and can i use it for specific sites with igetter
while surfing without it in safari
at the same time?

it's very slow
and i also don't want to hog the servers

thanx again

Hello Ed,
iGetter, Safari and many other Mac apps depend on the OS X proxy preferences. This is by design of Apple, one system place for all proxy settings. Some apps like Firefox have their own proxy settings and don't depend on the OS X preferences.

In short, you can't use Safari and iGetter with different proxies (HTTP,FTP,SOCKS). However, we plan to add separate proxy settings to iGetter in the future versions to avoid such problems.
