I routinely have a need to download large numbers of files, and would like to automate the process by using applescript to feed the URLs into iGetter, together with the name of the receiving file.

The core of the script looks like this:

tell application "iGetter"
GetURL (download_URL) in file (text_file)
set download_code to result
end tell

This runs without error, and gives a result value of -1700, but nothing else seems to happen.

1 What does -1700 signify? What other result codes are there?

2 Any examples of successful iGetter applescripts gratefully received.

Best wishes,
